"Dr. Lucas Pegg"

Lucas Pegg is an astronautical engineer who studies the alien probe and the nature of the signals,
and who designs the weaponry used by the Red Team commandos hunting down the infectees. He is the most openly
softhearted of the Red Team members, the heart and conscience of the group. With an unseen fiancee he has the most "normal"
life of any of the team members; he struggles to plan his wedding from the confines of the Threshold compound while concealing
the nature of his work from his fiancee. As one of the Red Team members exposed to the alien signal, Pegg's anxieties best
represent the fears of the common man.
Coming from an evangelical Christian background, Pegg wonders how much of the alien threat is God's
will and design; his viewpoints contrast greatly with those of Ramsey, the team member he has become closest to, as they debate
the "man of science/man of faith" perspectives.
