October 10, 2006:  At long last, Threshold makes its return to television!  Tune in to the SciFi Channel Friday nights at 10pm ET starting this Friday the 13th (of course!) to see Carla Gugino, Peter Dinklage, Brent Spiner & Co. tackle the alien invasion that started on CBS a year ago, and that can now be seen through it's full 13-episode run on SciFi!  I hope the limited run doesn't discourage a whole new audience from enjoying what was a fun and suspenseful show.

The New York Post hears that Jeremy Piven's abrasive agent may have client and "Aquaman" star Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) stolen out from under him by a sexy rival to be played by Threshold babe Carla Gugino for six episodes. An HBO rep tells the paper, "We don't comment on plotlines."

April 5, 2006:  TVShowsonDVD.com now says that the full series of Threshold will be released on DVD in July 2006 -- click here for details.  In other news, Peter Dinklage has signed on to play the villianous Simon Bar Sinister in Disney's live-action production of UnderdogI'm happy to see the bounty of work he has gotten since the show ended last November -- I know I'm not the only one who misses Arthur Ramsey!

March 15, 2006:  More casting developments for Threshold alumni!  Per this article, Carla Gugino has taken on the role of a therapist in director Scott Frank's The Lookout.  Also:  In addition to his role in the CBS pilot Ultra, Peter Dinklage has signed to costar with Ving Rhames in the film production 3/5 Of A Man, and will be returning to his stage roots in Dublin and London in a production of Samuel Beckett's Endgame (more details here).

January 15, 2005: Sky One in the UK has also posted an episode summary of The Crossing on the Sky One site, which I have added to the Crossing episode summaries here.

January, 14, 2006: Fans in the UK are lucky to be seeing the episodes of Threshold that were never aired in the US. The first such episode, "The Crossing," aired this past week; one of the posters at the IMDB boards posted a recap of the episode which I have posted here (as the IMDB boards require membership to view). Thanks to Sosage for making the effort to share with the rest of us!

January 4, 2005: News for Carla Gugino fans: per Reuters/the Hollywood Reporter, "Carla Gugino, who recently starred in CBS' short-lived drama "Threshold," is in final negotiations to join Ben Stiller in the comedy "Night at the Museum.""

(As the show has been cancelled, I expect that news items pertaining to Threshold may be few from here on...but I'll update with news on developments with the cast when possible.)

January 2, 2006: The Great Link features the following Threshold news:
Threshold – Currently showing on Sky One, but now cancelled stateside by CBS. Digital Spy reports that Sky will be showing all thirteen episodes, with the world premiere of ‘The Crossing’ set for Wednesday, January 11th. What went wrong with Threshold? Read my thoughts in the Great Link Productions Blog.

December 15, 2005:  The pilot episode of Threshold premieres this Sunday night in Australia...to read more details, check out the rave review the show was given on the Australian website The Age.

December 13, 2005: The official website for Threshold producer Brannon Braga has posted the answers to fans' questions in an exclusive Q&A. Follow this link to read what Braga had to say about the making of, plans for, and the cancellation of Threshold.

December 8, 2005:  Vote for Threshold!  SciFi Wire has a poll going asking viewers which of the cancelled science fiction shows most deserves a second chance.  Go now to the SciFi Wire poll and vote for Threshold!

December 3, 2005: Received an e-mail from Threshold fan Carlos, who has used the Save Threshold Letter from this site to start an online Save Threshold Petition, which everyone is encouraged to sign. (I'm not sure if it will help, but any showing of fan support can't hurt, and I'm sure will be appreciated!)

November 30, 2005: The fans give thanks to the cast & crew in their comments e-mailed to this site, and now posted in the "Thanks from the Fans" page!

And a reminder:  Holiday greetings for the cast & creative team!  The Brannon Braga website has a Christmas/holiday greeting project in the works now for fans who want to send e-mails, letters or cards of greeting to their favorite Threshold team members! Even if you're not usually one to send fan letters I'd give this one a shot...it may be hard to find these folks soon with the show cancelled, and your holiday well-wishes would be another nice way to show a hard-working cast and crew your appreciation and support of their work!

November 29, 2005: The home page at TV Guide.com is running a poll asking viewers if they feel that Threshold deserved to be yanked from the schedule.  Go now and vote--let your voice be heard!

Various articles added to the "Articles & Interviews" section, all detailing the show's cancellation...although still no official word on the fate of the remaining episodes.  (Please note: some fans have generously e-mailed additional article links which have not been posted, as they are only syndicated duplicates of what has already been featured here...but thanks for thinking of the site, and keep writing!)

November 28, 2005: In today's entertainment news at TV Guide:
"E.T., GO HOME: And in another blow to compelling, scripted television, CBS has yanked this Tuesday's episode of Threshold and, according to TheFutonCritic.com, halted production of the alien-invasion drama. Filling Threshold's time slot tomorrow at 10 pm/ET will be a repeat of Criminal Minds and a good deal of grumbling from sci-fi geeks. "

November 24, 2005:  A great show, a valiant effort...but CBS has decided not to give Threshold the chance to reach it's potential.  The show has been cancelled.

However...as today is traditionally a day of giving thanks in the US, I'd like to make a few worthwhile points.  First: a big thank you not only to the cast and creative team behind Threshold who provided us all with such a terrific (if underappreciated) program...but also to the friends, fans, and press who worked so hard and so fast to try to save the show.  The only effort wasted is the one you don't bother to make!

Second: at this time, there are no plans to shut down ThresholdFans.com.  Whatever news and announcements that CBS, the producers, or the press make about the show, you'll still find them reported here!  Those who have enjoyed the show (and will continue to do so for whatever episodes may still air) can still come here to learn more about Threshold and the cast/crew involved; going forward, I hope to be able to update fans on the future projects of these great people!

And third: for those who have enjoyed the show, and who have enjoyed viewing and participating with this website, I'd like to hear from you...in the spirit of giving thanks I'd like to put together a page of fan comments and feedback that will show our "fandom appreciation" to the Threshold team.  E-mail me anything you'd like to include at Webmaster@ThresholdFans.com and I'll post it on the page once completed.  (Remember, please keep it nice...I get that not everyone is a fan, but these people have worked hard for us, and they deserve a little positive recognition!)

Thank you!

November 23, 2005:  Well, ouch.  The ratings that Threshold received in the new timeslot were, to say the least, less than hoped for (managing only a 4.4/7 per Zap2It)...but as the saying goes, "It ain't over 'til it's over."  This isn't the time to be down and pouting, it's the time to be up and noisy--in the direction of CBS--and start saying loudly and often that we like the show and are hoping the network will take a leap of faith and grant it a full season (as all good scifi needs time to find its footing, and the show does have a lot of promise and devoted fans).  Don't wait for everyone else to do it; go NOW to the "Save Threshold!" page here, use the CBS feedback link, and write letters!  Then have everyone you know watch the show next Tuesday, or threaten them with socks and last year's fruitcake for Christmas.  (Hey, nobody said war was pretty!)

In other news...lots of Threshold talk over at TV Guide today (God bless 'em), including a poll asking what show viewers are thankful for this year.  GO NOW and vote for Threshold!  Also mentioned: "JAG knockout Catherine Bell recently shot a guest-star appearance for CBS' Threshold as a genetic engineer who, sources say, could become a recurring character should the sci-fi thriller receive a (much-deserved) full-season pickup. What's more, executive producer Brannon Braga revealed in a conference call with the press that Red Team member Lucas will get an as-yet-uncast fiancée and Lost creepazoid William Mapother's alien infectee from the series premiere will come back "in a very, very unexpected way."

November 22, 2005: Tonight is the night!  Watch Threshold in it's new timeslot, 10pm ET!

From Robert Bianco at USA Today:  "What to watch Tuesday night:" CBS' Threshold (10 p.m. ET/PT) moves to its new night with a particularly strong episode as the team tangles with an infected Washington socialite (Elizabeth Berkley). It makes for an entertainingly scary hour for a show that seems to be morphing into Alias with aliens.

TV Guide also lists tonight's episode in their Hot List:  "Elizabeth Berkley guest stars on this chilling episode as one of three D.C. residents who become infected by the aliens. Berkley plays an oil billionaire's trophy wife who viciously attacks a bank teller. But her reaction is mild compared to an artist who rips her husband's head off and tosses it out of a window, and an attorney who mutates and explodes on a street corner. (Video clip available at the link!)

Have a question for the producer?  Brannon Braga is planning to answer questions from the fans that are submitted to his website by next Tuesday the 29th!

November 21, 2005:  Brian Van Holt on The Late Late Show tonight!  Don't forget to watch BVH's interview with Craig Ferguson tonight promoting Threshold!  Check your local listings for times!  And tomorrow, Nov. 22:  Carla Gugino will be on CBS's The Early Show!

...and a terrific and much-appreciated boost from TV Guide's Matt Roush in helping get the word out about the new timeslot and writing campaign!  Thank you Matt!

November 19, 2005: Threshold named "one of the best shows you're not watching""Threshold" (returns 10 p.m. Tuesday on CBS) -- Of all the "we're not alone" series making their debut this season, "Threshold" is the cream of the crop. The show is creepy, suspenseful and, at times, hysterically funny thanks to the deadpan delivery of Peter Dinklage as Arthur Ramsey. Dr. Molly Caffrey (Carla Gugino, as phenomenal here as she was as "Karen Sisco") has constructed contingency plans for every emergency. When Threshold (her alien invasion plan) is called into action, she assembles the best team possible. If any show should be labeled a successor to "The X-Files" it's this one. In addition to Dinklage and Gugino, "Threshold" also boasts strong performances from Charles S. Dutton and Brent Spiner. The show initially aired on Friday nights. This move to Tuesdays shows CBS' faith in the show and hopefully that will pay off with a bigger audience. Hint, hint."

November 18, 2005:  Carla Gugino on Letterman tonight!  Don't miss Carla as she promotes the show's new timeslot this evening!

November 17:  Holiday greetings for the cast & creative team!  The Brannon Braga website has a Christmas/holiday greeting project in the works now for fans who want to send letters or cards of greeting to their favorite Threshold team members! Even if you're not usually one to send fan letters I'd give this one a shot...it may be hard to find these folks soon if the show is cancelled, and your holiday well-wishes would be another nice way to show a hard-working cast and crew your appreciation and support of their work!  (As with the "Save Our Show" campaign, I'd get those cards in before the end of the month if you want to guarantee delivery!)

November 16:  Threshold makes it's premiere tonight in the UK on Sky1!!!  Also, the Threshold cast will be hitting the talk show circuit in the next week as Carla Gugino makes an appearance on David Letterman this Friday the 18th, and when Brian Van Holt appears on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Monday the 21st!

November 15 update:  Threshold needs your help!  There is a big push on right now to spare Threshold from the threat of cancellation and get the show a full-season order!  To learn what you can do, click the "Save Threshold" link to the left!

November 9, 2005: Threshold streaming on the web!  The Futon Critic is reporting the new episodes and availability dates of the Threshold episodes that will be available online at the CBS website!

November 7, 2005:  Timeslot change!  The Futon Critic is reporting that Threshold is being moved to a new timeslot: Tuesdays at 10pm EST, beginning November 22!

November 21: From a Braga interview with SciFi Wire:

"Catherine Bell will soon join the show's cast in a recurring role. Bell, who will also star in SCI FI Channel's upcoming original miniseries The Triangle, will play a genetic engineer who joins the Red Team of Molley Caffrey (Carla Gugino), which is trying to stop an alien threat..." and "Gunneson (William Mapother), the alien infectee from the pilot episode, will come back "in a very, very unexpected way when he appears in Molly's nightmare."

November 19:  From a Heyman/Braga interview with TV-Now:

"The unseen fiancé of character Lucas Pegg (played by Robert Patrick Benedict) will make an appearance. "You're finally going to meet her in an upcoming episode... in fact, she's going to become a recurring character," ..."She's cool and pretty," Braga added. "She's a research physician at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda. Lucas is going to go through a very traumatic experience where having watched that alien video tape, he starts to unravel,"... the "refrigerator dude, Gunnison" will be reintroduced to the show. "He is going to come back in a very, very unexpected way when he appears in Molly's nightmares. They're going to find out some very disturbing things about that ship at the bottom of the ocean that you saw in the last episode; that's going to start coming back. We're definitely picking up threads from previous episodes and paying them off."

November 18: From Braga's interview with Zap2It:

"One of our characters is going to become unglued, start to tune into an alien. It's one of the three who was infected from the videotape in the pilot -- Lucas, Molly, Cavennaugh. One of those three is going to go down," ...also, if the show is picked up for a full season, look for JAG's Catherine Bell to appear in a three-episode arc!

November 17:  From Watch With Kristin at E! Online:

Is Threshold a goner?
Is riding the fence right now. Spread the word to watch it on Tuesday nights! This week's ep is the one with Elizabeth Berkley, she gets infected at a sperm bank because one of the ship's infected crew members has been donating sperm. Her friend who goes to the same fertility clinic is also infected. They're trying to spread the signal. Another woman who's infected isn't as lucky...And someone get shot at the end.

November 15: From an interview with Brannon Braga in SciFi Wire:

"If we get that back order, there are lots of big twists and turns coming, and big escalating things happening both plotwise and characterwise that we want to do. Molly's going to lose control of Threshold. She's going to ... find herself in a position where she may completely lose control of the entire operation. Ramsey 's [Peter Dinklage] going to be going down a very dark path as he starts turning to his vices more and more. ... And ... we're going to find out more about what these aliens are doing. Unfortunately, right around the time our team starts to figure it out, we figure out that what they plan is infinitely more terrifying than what we've seen so far."

November 14, 2005: From TV Guide Magazine, regarding the November 29 episode "The Crossing":

"Is euthenasia an option for humans infected with the alien strain?  As interesting as it would be to hear the issue argued before the Supreme Court, time constraints (and security issues) necessitate that the debate be left to Molly and Fenway when a contaminated guard would rather die than face mutation."

Be sure to let me know what you hear and I'll add it to this page!
